Yeti Loves Sasquatch
Yeti and Sasquatch really love spending time together when they can! It can be tough for them to get together as Yeti loves the cold & snow, and Sasquatch enjoys the sun & splashing. When they do get together they really love to get a hug from their best friend!
Help Yeti and Sasquatch get hugs! Work together to move Yeti and Sasquatch next to each other on the map, and they will get a big hug! See how many hugs they can get before any player’s hand of movement cards run out.
Set Up
Shuffle and lay out the 16 land cards to create the Map. Make sure there is a white Mountain space and a green Mountain space in opposite corners of the map. These are where Yeti and Sasquatch start the game. Place the Sasquatch meeple on the green mountain space, and the Yeti on the white mountain space.
Shuffle the movement cards. Deal 2 face down to each player, and one face up at the side of the Map. Place the rest of the movement cards to the side of the Map. This is the draw pile.
Place the 10 wooden hearts near the Map.
Game Play
On your turn you will play one movement crad from your hand of 2, or use the face up movement card at the side of the Map to move either Sasquatch or Yeti.
Movement cards are color specific, white for Yeti or brown for Sasquatch, and have a patten of blue squares and gray arrows to show the direction and number of spaces in which Yeti or Sasquatch will move. When you play a card, move the matching meeple in the pattern shown on the card.
If after you move Yeti or Sasquatch, and Yeti is on a white mountain or lake space and Sasquatch is on a green mountain or lake space next to each other, but not on a diagonal, the players will score a Hug for Yeti and Sasquatch. Take a wooden heart token and place it in front of you on the play surface.
If you played a card from your hand, draw a new card. If you used the face up card near the Map, place a new face up card to replace it.
Once a players hand of cards run out the game is over. Count up the number of heart tokens to see how well you did getting Yeti and Sasquatch hugs!
Variants
Some of the land cards have lakes on them. These can be used in three different ways.
1. Lakes count as regular spaces, and Hugs count when next to each other.
2. If Yeti or Sasquatch are on a Lake space they cannot hug. They are too busy having fun.
3. Lakes cannot be moved onto, and are obstacles on the Map.

GENESIS
I wanted to create a game aimed at family play, and younger players. Co-op games are a great way to include younger players. Working together toward a goal, and a shared win, can introduce younger players to teamwork, and concepts of shared risk/investment.
The legends of the Yeti and Sasquatch have been present in my life for a long time. From Steve Austin firghting a robotic version on The Six Million Dollar Man, to the blurry image that has become a part of our pop culture, to the adorable Yeti featured in Monsters Inc. There is a mystery about them, and that has generated an internal monologue about those enigmatic creatures in my imagination.
Looking to design something a little outside of my usual wheelhouse Yeti Loves Sasquatch presents these two mythic crteatures as friends, best friends. Friends hoping to connect in a big wide world full of obstacles and distractions. I hope for this game to be a lighthearted, fun experienec focused on planning and cooperation.
When there are huigs involved, everyone wins.
